Malatzky Teaches: An ePortfolio

Technology and media play an important role in supporting effective science instruction at the middle school level. In my work as a middle school science teacher and graduate student, I view technology as a tool that can enhance student understanding by making complex scientific concepts more visible and interactive. Digital simulations, visual media, and collaborative platforms allow students to engage with science content in ways that promote inquiry, discussion, and critical thinking. When used intentionally, technology also supports multiple ways for students to access information and demonstrate understanding. For me, technology and media are most valuable when they deepen learning and support meaningful engagement rather than replace hands-on scientific thinking.
